Intelsat.  In 1964 more than 100 countries established a commercial global satellite network known as the International Telecommunications Satellite Consortium (Intelsat), later known as the International Telecommunications Satellite Organisation.

Intermediate circular orbit (ICO).  In satellite communications systems, an intermediate circular orbit (ICO) is a circular satellite orbit of heights between 10,000 km and 15,000 km above the Earth.

Intermediate Circular Orbit Satellite System (ICO Satellite).  The ICO system will have ten operational satellites and two in-orbit spares operating in medium-earth orbit at an altitude of 10,355 km.

International Mobile Satellite Organisation (Inmarsat).  In 1979, INMARSAT was created to provide global mobile satellite communications originally at sea, but now also in the air and on the land. The name INMARSAT originally stood for International Maritime Satellite Organisation, but was changed to the International Mobile Satellite Organisation in 1995.

IridiumIridium is an MSS system that provides global mobile telephony services using a constellation of 66 LEO satellites. The Iridium system uses on board switching and inter-satellite links to communicate between satellites.

Iridium pager.  The Iridium pager uses the Iridium satellite phone to provide paging services to the subscriber.

Iridium satellite.  An Iridium satellite is one of a constellation of 66 LEO Iridium satellites.

Iridium satellite phone.  The Iridium satellite phone provides voice and data services to the subscriber.
