Information on LEO

In satellite communications systems, a LEO satellite operates at heights of between 500 and 2,000 km above the Earth’s surface. LEO satellites can be used for many purposes including satellite communications and surveillance.
     When used for satellite communications, a LEO satellite provides a much smaller delay than a geostationary earth orbit satellite.
