Information on RS code

The Reed-Solomon code is an important subclass of non-binary BCH error-correcting codes in which the encoder operates on multiple bits rather than individual bits. A RS code is therefore ideally suited to use with m-ary modulation, and copes well with bursts of errors. The RS code is commonly used in satellite communications.
