Functional Architecture.  The functional architecture of a system is a hierarchical arrangement of the systems functions; external functional interfaces; functional, performance and verification requirements; and design constraints.

Functional Baseline.  The Functional Baseline is the product of Conceptual Design and represents a functional architecture of the system.

Functional Configuration Audit (FCA).  A functional configuration audit is an important activity within configuration management that ensures that the functionality of a configuration item as demonstrated by the test and evaluation effort is the same as that documented in the Development Specification and the Product Specification for that configuration item.

Functional Requirement.  A functional requirement is a statement of the necessary activity, task or action that must be accomplished.
