    Waiver.  A waiver is formal written authorization that allows a configuration item that does not meet specified requirements to be accepted as suitable for use.

    Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).  A work breakdown structure is a hierarchical breakdown of the various system components (personnel, materials, facilities and data) to be produced, developed or acquired.
