Information on CMP

The CMP is a major systems engineering document. The CMP defines the approved configuration management process to be applied to the project. Normally two CMPs will be developed over the lifecycle of the system: one developed by the contractor during the Acquisition Phase and one by the user/customer in the Utilisation Phase.
     The content and layout of the CMP will vary from system to system and will be determined by the customer organisation and specified in the contract.
     MIL-STD-973 is the principal configuration management standard.
