A DID is a document that
is used to define the format, content and constraints to
which a contract deliverable must comply. A DID is normally provided in the contract for all major
deliverables in that contract. Effectively, the should be a DID
for each type of deliverable data. The list of all
data requirements for a contract is called a Contract Data
Requirements List (CDRL). For example, a DID
might be included for the Systems Engineering Master Plan (SEMP),
the Configuration Management Plan (CMP), the Test and Evaluation Master
Plan (TEMP), and so on. DIDs can also be called,
inter alia, 'model texts', 'templates', or 'proformas'.
