Information on IV&V
Verification and validation are an important part of a systems engineering process. Because the designers associated with the process may be too close to be able to take an objective view of the process, an independent party is often invited to perform IV&V . Independent verification and validation can also be used in a contractual situation to allow the acquirer to have increased confidence in the developer's progress through an independent verification and validation of the design by a third party.
