Information on T&E

In systems engineering, the T&E effort is aimed at ensuring a consistent and coordinated approach to system testing with a changing focus at each of the lifecycle stages. The T&E effort aims to test and evaluate the system progressively as it passes through the lifecycle to identify problems early to avoid costly and time consuming rectifications later.
T&E is a major technical risk mitigation measure. Testing can be expensive and time-consuming, requiring specialised test equipment, highly trained personnel, as well as expensive operating costs and facilities.
The entire T&E effort is managed by a formal plan called the Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP)
