Information on Conceptual Design

Conceptual Design is the first of the Acquisition Phase activities in the systems engineering process and is aimed at producing a clearly defined set of user requirements in functional terms at the system level. Conceptual Design begins with a statement of need and ends with a Functional Baseline (system-level functional architecture) containing the System Specification.
