Information on Physical Configuration Audit

A physical configuration audit is part of the configuration management activities undertaken within the quality assurance activities of systems engineering. A physical configuration audit examines the as-built configuration item against the various specifications such as Product Specifications, assembly drawings, parts lists, and other design data, and ensures that the physical as-built configuration is the same as that described by these specifications.
A physical configuration audit is conducted on the final version (the as-built version) of each configuration item.
