Information on Test And Evaluation

In systems engineering, the test and evaluation (T&E) effort is aimed at ensuring a consistent and coordinated approach to system testing with a changing focus at each of the lifecycle stages. The test and evaluation effort aims to test and evaluate the system progressively as it passes through the lifecycle to identify problems early to avoid costly and time consuming rectifications later.
Test and evaluation is a major technical risk mitigation measure. Testing can be expensive and time-consuming, requiring specialised test equipment, highly trained personnel, as well as expensive operating costs and facilities.
The entire test and evaluation effort is managed by a formal plan called the Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP)
