Information on Accountability
In the decision making process, it is important that decision
makers (whether teams or individuals) accept accountability (that is
take responsibility) for their own actions. This accountability is
essential in good leaders since the lack of it will
seriously undermine their credibility as a leader. Accountability should
always therefore be given consideration early on in the decision
making process. If the decision makers are not going to
be accountable for their decision they should not (and arguably
have no right to) make the decision.
