Information on Decision Making

Decision making is a core skill for teams and leaders. Decision making involves making a selection from among alternative courses of action. The decision making process begins with identifying and defining a problem, then generating a series of alternative solutions and evaluating and selecting them. Implementation and evaluation of the implementation provide feedback into the next cycle of decision making. In a self-directing team, the team itself takes on an important decision making role within the organisation. Effective team decision making implies an engagement with the members of the team, and high performance in each of the nine dimensions of the high-performance team wheel.
