The High-Performance Team Wheel is a framework for team
high-performance, consisting of nine dimensions. The Wheel is thought to
have been developed by a branch of Computer Sciences Corporation
known as DiBiacha-Berkman.
The nine dimensions of the high-performance team wheel are:
Straight talk
Alignment
Resourcefulness and Possibility
Accountability and Responsibility
Decisive, Coordinated Action
Accomplishment and
Celebration
Effectiveness in Breakdowns
Mutual Support and Coaching
Generating Stands
The "wheel" model concerns
nine dimensions or classifications of team behaviour. It gets its
name from the wheel arrangement, as depicted at right. Eight
principal rungs or spokes surround the all-important, central hub "Generating
Stands." Stands are specific commitments to behaviour and performance that
are beyond "business as usual".
The whole idea behind high performance
in teams is that they are willing and able to
continually stretch, improve, and exceed expectations. Essentially, teams that demonstrate
moderate levels across the nine dimensions tend to perform better
than teams who do not.
