Information on Nature of Leadership

When considering the nature of leadership, many in an organisation often assume that leadership is a natural trait and that leaders are born and not made. That is, it is believed that the nature of leadership is such that the art of leadership is intuitively obvious to good leaders. Leadership is not a natural trait, however, and must be developed by study and perfected by practice. It follows therefore that the nature of leadership is such that a good leader must first undergo a period of instruction in leadership, followed by continued study and practice of the art.
