Information on Leading Teams

Traditionally, leading teams was thought the purview of a designated individual with formal authority, a team leader or first-line supervisor charged with the responsibility of ensuring their team meets performance requirements consistent with organisational goals. While notions of leadership are changing, as are expectations about who leads and how, teams still need effective leaders, whether or not leadership asserts itself from amongst team members or whether a leader is assigned to the team. Leading is mostly concerned with inspiring, motivating, encouraging, and influencing team members to work together for the common good.
