Information on Demodulator

A demodulator is used in a receiver to shift the carrier frequency of a received signal to a lower frequency. A demodulator often takes the form of a mixer. A different type of demodulator is required for each of the three major types of analog modulation: frequency modulation, amplitude modulation and phase modulation.
