Information on Frequency Synthesiser - Indirect Method

Most modern equipments use the indirect method of frequency synthesis, in which the required output frequency is derived from a voltage-controlled oscillator whose accuracy is maintained by phase-locking the oscillator to a standard frequency. There are various methods by which the output of the voltage-controlled oscillator can be use to derive all of the wanted frequencies.
