A USB transmitter (upper sideband transmitter) is a
form of SSB transmitter (single sideband transmitter) that transmits only
on the upper sideband. A USB transmitter usually
operates by generating a DSB (double sideband) signal and using
a filter to remove the lower sideband. The design of
this filter often causes a USB transmitter to
perform two separate frequency-shifting modulation operations.
