XML — Character Data

Information on Character Data

Character Data is character data in an XML or SGML document that is not parsed by the XML parser. Character Data is contained within a Character Data tag, which begins "[", and ends with "]]>".
     In contrast to Character Data, PCDATA in XML is character data that is parsed.
