Information on Hypertext Markup Language
Hypertext Markup Language is a markup language commonly
used on the web.
An Hypertext Markup Language document type consists
of text and tags. The tags control the displayed format
of the document, as well as specifying the URL for
hyperlinks and images.
Unlike XML, an Hypertext Markup Language document does not
specify the type of data, only the format for its
display.
An Hypertext Markup Language document is usually given the file extension
'.htm' or '.Hypertext Markup Language'.
A typical Hypertext Markup Language parser is much
more forgiving of Hypertext Markup Language documents that are not well
formed than an XML parser.
