Information on CDATA (Character Data)

CDATA (Character Data) is character data in an XML or SGML document that is not parsed by the XML parser. CDATA is contained within a CDATA tag, which begins "[", and ends with "]]>".
In contrast to CDATA, PCDATA in XML is character data that is parsed.
