Information on RPC (Remote Procedure Call)
RPC (Remote Procedure Call) can be used to describe
any method that allows a user on one computer to
execute a program on another computer.
There are many security issues
associated with RPC. As a result, most forms of
RPC are blocked by firewalls. One exeception is SOAP
(Simple Object Access Protocol), which uses HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol)
to carry RPC requests and responses.
